Our story

The story of the oak tree has inspired our community for years. During an ice storm this tree was split completely in half, and many thought the tree would not survive. However, a group of people bound the tree back together and pruned its branches in hope that the tree could be saved. The tree did more than survive. It flourished. The tree began to grow twice as fast and strong as the other oak tree.

The oak tree represents what a congregation bound in love can grow into. It is a picture of brokenness transformed into fruitfulness. This vision of our oak tree guides our congregation in vision, mission, and strategy.

Vision

Inspired by the oak tree, our vision reminds us who we want to be. We want to be a community rooted and faith and bound together in God's love. Just as the tree grew and healed in community, we also grow and heal with the support of others.

mission

Our mission is the work we seek to do within our congregation and our community. We want to be people who sow seeds of Love in Jesus name. Just as trees grow and produce through seeds, so too does the Kingdom of God. We spread the work of God by loving other people the way Christ loves us.

strategy

Our strategy is how we remind ourselves how we can fulfill our vision and mission. We are rooted in faith, bound by love, and spreading seeds of love as we gather, grow, and go together.

GATHER: We gather every week to worship the Lord together
