Philosophy of Children’s Ministry

Psalms 139:13-14

13  For you created my inmost being;

you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

your works are wonderful,

I know that full well.

  • To value children as being a gift from God, made in His image, each one unique in personality and gifts.

    (Genesis 1:27, Psalm 139:13-14, Jeremiah 1:4-5)

  • To create an environment that is safe, loving, encouraging, consistent and fun in which to reach out to children and their families.

    (Matthew 19:13-14)

  • To teach children that God loves them and to encourage them to love others just as Christ loves them.

    (Psalm 103, John 3:16, 1 John 2:9-11, 1 John 4:21, Ephesians 5:1-2, John 13:34)

  • To teach children Bible truths, Christian character traits and values using the Bible, scripture memorization, music, discipleship and positive role models. (Proverbs 22:6, Romans 10:17)

  • To minister to children and families to meet emotional, physical and spiritual needs by becoming involved in their lives and being sensitive to their own unique situations. (Colossians 3:23-24, Philippians 2:5-8)

  • To evangelize children in a way that is consistent with their own spiritual growth, utilizing Biblical truths, to bring them to the point of salvation and baptism. Providing opportunities for spiritual growth through Bible study, discipleship and mentoring. (Matthew 28:18-20)
